Tanzania

The Land of Kilimanjaro

Tanzania is home to the Serengeti's endless plains, the Ngorongoro Crater's dense wildlife concentrations, and the roof of Africa itself. Witness the Great Migration, encounter the Big Five, and climb the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

National Parks

  • Serengeti National Park

Endless plains and the Great Migration.

  • Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area

Dense wildlife within a spectacular volcanic caldera.

  • Kilimanjaro National Park

Home to Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak.

  • Tarangire National Park

Famous for large elephant herds and iconic baobab-studded landscapes — a classic northern circuit addition.

  • Lake Manyara National Park

Compact park known for tree-climbing lions and flamingo-lined alkaline lake views.

  • Arusha National Park

Often used as an add-on near the safari gateway city — Mount Meru trekking, the Ngurdoto Crater, and black-and-white colobus monkeys.

  • • The Great Migration
  • • Some of the last remaining wild chimpanzees

Permits & Pricing

Permit prices and regulations change — the figures above reflect our most recent confirmation and are always re-verified before we issue a quote.

Permits

  • Park fees & conservation permits

Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Kilimanjaro all carry separate park and conservation fees that vary by season and length of stay. We build these into every proposal so operators see the all-in cost up front, with no surprises at settlement.

Best Time to Visit

January–March for the Great Migration calving season in the southern Serengeti; June–August for river crossings in the north. Kilimanjaro climbs are best January–March and June–October.

Getting There

Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and Arusha serve the northern circuit; given the distances between parks, we frequently coordinate internal flights alongside road transfers to maximize time in the field.

Trip Planning FAQ

How many days should we plan for a Tanzania safari?

A northern circuit safari covering Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti typically needs 7–8 days. Adding a Kilimanjaro climb or a Zanzibar extension adds 5–9 days depending on the route.

Should we combine the Serengeti and Ngorongoro with Zanzibar?

It's one of our most requested combinations — a safari-then-beach itinerary balances the pace of game drives with downtime, and Zanzibar is a short flight from the northern circuit's airstrips.

How many days does a Kilimanjaro climb take, and what fitness is required?

Routes typically run 6–8 days depending on the route chosen for acclimatization. No technical climbing skill is required, but a solid level of cardiovascular fitness and prior high-altitude experience is recommended.

Do you operate the northern or southern circuit?

We focus on Tanzania's northern circuit — Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Kilimanjaro — coordinated through Kilimanjaro International Airport and Arusha.
